# How to create a new room

You can create your own chatting room and invite your colleagues for a discussion.

- Go to rooms list and click *Create Room*.
- In the *Create Room* dialog, select visibility (Public or Private).
- Fill in the details and click *Create* to create new room accordingly.

Chat room specific info varies upon choosing Private or Public room.

Anyone can see and join *Public* rooms. *Private* rooms are visible for invited members only.

**Note: **The person who creates a chat room defines the chat room owner and what invited people can do within chat rooms.
